Can you open InteliJ from Mac Finder?

I created a Kotlin/JVM gradle-based project in IntelliJ on my desktop. I know I can open this by going into IJ and opening the project. Ideally though, for the way I work, I’d like to be able to go into the folder on the desktop in Finder, and double click on something to open the project. Sort of the way I open a text file or a Logic session by just clicking on it.

Is that possible?

(in the class of something I’ve always wondered but was too afraid to ask.)
