I know some basic java and can do a few quizzes online but cant really make any real programs. I’m wondering how long did it take everyone to learn their first language? I’m switching to kotlin because java didn’t seem like the right fit for me in terms of tutorials I’ve seen for android development. It seemed like doing kotlin looked much faster to do and slightly easier to learn which I’m sure it isn’t but to my pea brain it might be more feasible than Java. Tldr; how long did it take you to get your first app up and running or how long did it take you to learn your first language where you could land a job?
