How is kotlin used in the industry

I’m curious what the industry does with kotlin. I am quite interested in learning it properly so I can have this skill later. But I am more of a scala functional developer not oop. I see that there are libraries that help with functional programming so is that something the industry does? Or more oop.

Secondly do companies use kotlin for backend Web server. To me it feels clunky but I can’t judge since I don’t use it that often.
