How “alpha” Kotlin Multiplatform is?

This is one thing I don’t quite understand. Everytime I run gradle on a Kotlin Multiplatform, “Kotlin Multiplatform is still in alpha state” always shows up. It keeps remind me “it’s just alpha, don’t use it in production.”

Meanwhile, JetBrains also often promotes Kotlin Multiplatform as a stable product. It often says “just use it, it’s wonderful” and “many companies have already been using it and the whole experience is great”.

So how “alpha” Kotlin Multiplatform is? Should I listen to Gradle’s prompt or JetBrains’ promotion?
