Hey everyone. I’ve been developing for 4-5 years in my free time, mostly web development using PHP/Laravel, JS, and all the other languages needed to build web sites.
Recently, I decided to venture over and start Android dev with Kotlin and Android Studio. I’m fairly new to the language (a couple weeks in), and decided to start with the Google Kotlin Certification. Since I have virtually no experience in this area of software dev, I was hoping someone with experience could tell me whether a Google Cert would make much of a difference when I start applying for jobs. I assume, most employers would value actual projects over certifications, but since Google backs Kotlin and is a highly reputable tech company, I was hoping my efforts wouldn’t be in vain.
Any advice for someone with several years of programming experience learning Kotlin and becoming job ready?
